Lauren Ramay, MD, is a board-certified adult psychiatrist at Westwood Psychiatry Associates in Westwood, New Jersey. She knew from a young age that she wanted to help people by combining her fascination with the human mind with her ability to get to know people and learn their stories.
Dr. Ramay has become known for her relatability, compassion, enthusiasm, and knowledge. Taking great pride in her ability to connect with and listen to her patients, she curates individualized treatment plans that help her patients achieve, maintain, and optimize their overall wellness.
Dr. Ramay has had the opportunity to work with children and families, adults, and the elderly dealing with issues like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and trauma, to name a few. She also treats substance use disorders and is comfortable using Suboxone® and Vivitrol®.
With years of experience working in a variety of settings and with diverse populations, Dr. Ramay understands the debilitating and disruptive nature of mental health issues. She believes that when patients have a trusting therapeutic relationship with someone who cares, they can work towards a path of wellness and freedom.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Ramay went on to complete her Doctor of Medicine at St. George’s University School of Medicine.
She completed her psychiatry residency training at Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in Paramus, New Jersey, ranking as the top academic resident during her training.
Currently, Dr. Ramay is the medical director for inpatient adult psychiatry at CarePoint Health Christ Hospital in Jersey City, New Jersey. She is an active member of academic and professional societies, including the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and NJPA.
